About Us

Welcome to The Foxes website.

The Foxes Archery Club is based at Farnham Bridge Farm, Rothley, Leicester. It is a target archery club and it has an active junior club associated with it (The Junior Foxes) for archers under 18 years.

During the outdoor season (April to end September) the club has normally three sessions/week, Tuesday and Thursday evenings and also Saturday mornings, but normally we can shoot at other times as well. Indoor shooting takes place at Winstanley College (just off Hinckley Road) on Saturday mornings between the end of September and the end of March , but we are hopeful that very soon we will get an evening session mid week also.

We have archers at all levels of expertise including some who regularly represent the County in inter-county matches. Many of our archers shoot in tournaments while others just shoot for the fun of it. The club runs tournaments, fun shoots, Have-A-Go's, enters postal leagues and runs beginner's courses throughout the year. We welcome novice as well as experienced archers. Our members are very friendly and new archers integrate easily into a good club atmosphere.

Joining the club

The annual membership fee (due at the end of April each year) is as follows:

Adult: £65    Junior: £20    (juniors pay only £10 if joining with a parent)

A recent change also sees anyone over the age of 65 only paying 50% of membership fees. There are no target fees, and membership also covers the cost of indoor shooting during the winter.

GNAS (The Grand National Archery Society) fees are due at the end of August of each year (£44 for 2009/2010). Juniors have their GNAS fees paid for them by the club, so this charge applies to seniors only.
